What Is Cub Scouting?

Cub Scouting is a family-oriented program for boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade.

The program is designed to help youth grow into confident, responsible, and caring individuals through hands-on learning, outdoor activities, and character development—all while having fun with friends and family.

About Pack 261

Pack 261 is based in Castle Rock, Colorado, and proudly chartered by the Ridgeline Community Church.  We’ve been serving families in our community since 1958.

We welcome families from across the community and offer year-round opportunities for youth to grow, learn, and explore—whether you’re just starting kindergarten or joining later in elementary school.

Our program is built around weekly den meetings, monthly pack meetings, and special events like the Pinewood Derby, campouts, service projects, and family hikes.

Our Leaders

Our volunteer leaders are the heart of Pack 261. Each one brings energy, experience, and a commitment to creating meaningful experiences for our scouts.

Every adult leader is required to complete Youth Protection Training and pass a background check. Many of our leaders are also trained through Scouting America’s Wood Badge, University of Scouting, and other leadership programs.

We’re proud to have a team of Eagle Scouts, dedicated parents, and community role models guiding our scouts.

A Safe Place to Grow

At Pack 261, the safety of every scout is our highest priority.

All of our adult leaders complete Youth Protection Training, undergo background checks, and follow Scouting America’s strict guidelines to ensure a safe and supportive environment at every meeting and event.

Scouting America recently launched an updated Youth Protection Training program to reflect best practices in youth safety. All leaders are encouraged to complete this new training as soon as it’s available—and it will become required as current certifications expire.
